Our story

Okatto originated in a place where time seemed to slow down.

The story begins with Tortiga, a small cabin with a distinct, organic shape. During the COVID period, the Tortiga prototypes were exhibited in the Park van Beervelde. In this special environment — surrounded by nature, silence and space — Tortiga grew into a place where people consciously came to slow down.

For the creators, Lam Moreels (Gram CNC) and Nicolas Verbrugge, a new question arose there. Not what something should look like, but what was missing to make the experience more complete. How can a stay not only be functional, but also feel like a whole?

The answer did not come in grand gestures, but in an addition that had to be self-evident. Okatto was developed as a quiet addition to Tortiga — an element that deepens the experience without being intrusive.

What started as a part of Tortiga, grew into a product with its own character. Today, Okatto stands on its own, but still carries the same origin within it: attention to form, respect for material and the conviction that simplicity often lingers the most.
